Being a major tourist destination and tourism itself being one of the main pillars of the economy, Mauritius thus has a wide array of hotels ranging from world class posh ones along the coasts with golf courses to common hotels in the busy cities. Finding a hotel in Mauritius is not very difficult as many of the hotels have an online website or hotels can be contacted by holidays’ agencies. But still, choosing the ideal place to stay at is not an easy task and even more difficult when it comes to Mauritius as all the hotels seem good enough, so the choice then has to be based on certain factors like the services being offered, amenities etc. The following presents a brief review of some of the best hotels in Mauritius. Le Touessrok – Trou d’eau douce Found in an idyllic place overlooking Trou d’eau douce, le Touessrok counts as one of the most amazing hotels in Mauritius. It is the ideal place for family vacations, romantic escape, honey mooning or conferences. Facilities include world class rooms, kids’ corner plus activities, a Givenchy spa, tennis club, restaurant, bars, pools, a golf course on neighbouring ile aux cerfs, access to a private islet, ilot Mangenie and long stretches of sandy white beaches and turquoise waters. One and Only Saint Geran – Poste de Flacq Le Saint Geran proposes its clients a totally luxurious and comfortable stay with a number of classy suites and impeccable service. From the hotel grounds to the beaches, everything is set in a relaxing atmosphere for some days off work and to steal some energy from the wonderful environment. Among the services are daily garment pressing, cocktails, aromatherapy baths, baby items upon request and 24 hr butler service; the hotel is recommended for family vacations, honeymoons and corporate reasons. The Oberoi – Pointe aux Piments The hotel grounds are littered with a number of classy villas each with a private swimming pool and dining gabezo all set in a classic yet grandeur speaking environment. Services include private dining, broadband internet access, safe, private bar, spa, tennis court and conference rooms. It is recommended of the guests to wear formal wear at dinner time and after 6pm, casual wear may not be allowed inside of the restaurants. It is more suitable for those looking for a romantic escape or business people. Royal Palm hotel – Grand Baie Royal Palm is found is the north of Mauritius where a number of activities and facilities are already offered. All the suites of the hotel have ocean views with private balconies while the hotel grounds themselves call out for some lazy vacations. All rooms come with internet connection, 24hr service, separate bathroom and toilets, mini bar and safe. The hotel is home to a number of restaurants where a wide variety of cuisine can be tasted. A number of sports’ facilities are offered like fishing, waterskiing, snorkelling etc. The hotel is great for family holidays with a number of junior suites and kid’s activities and couples. The Residence – Belle Mare With smooth sandy and warm colours, the rooms and suites of the Residence hotel have been designed in an elegant manner to make guests’ stay memorable ones while they also offer ocean or garden views. Amongst the services are air conditioning, mini bar and safe, tea and coffee facilities, unpacking and laundry service. The hotel can host a number of events like meetings and seminars, weddings, parties etc. It is a good choice for family holidays, honeymoons as well as business work.
